About Xochimilco: the Cuemanco boat launch
The Cuemanco boat launch, on the Periférico Sur, is home base for the trajineras, the painted flat-bottomed boats that once carried goods along the canals. It opened in 1993 among the chinampas and the park and plant market of Cuemanco, some 23 km south of the Centro. Prices are per boat, for one to 20 people: agree the price and the length of the trip with the operator before you board (CDMX official tourism site).
Opening hours, prices and seasonal openings change, so please check with Xochimilco: the Cuemanco boat launch before you go.
